How do I pay?

If you are a customer

There are two payments on a job.

The commitment fee. When a provider accepts your request, you pay a commitment fee online. The job can't start until it's paid. You see the amount before you pay.

The service fee. This is the price for the work. You can pay it by card through Ayika, or pay the provider directly. Ayika holds a card payment until the job is complete, then passes it to the provider. If you pay directly, the provider confirms they received it. You can only approve a finished job once the service fee is settled.

Which of these you are offered depends on your market. Some markets allow both, some only card, some only direct.

Card payments go through Paystack. Paystack may add its own processing fee at checkout. Ayika doesn't add anything on top.

On WhatsApp or Telegram. The "Pay" button opens a payment link from Ayika. It works for 24 hours. If it has expired or the amount changed, open the request to get a fresh one.

If you cancel. Cancel before the provider taps "on my way" and your commitment fee is refunded. After that, the provider keeps it. A service fee you paid by card is refunded if the job is cancelled or fails. If the provider cancels, your commitment fee can move to the next provider for a short while. If you'd rather not wait, you can take the refund.

If you are a provider

Your share of the commitment fee is released to you when you tap "on my way". A card service fee is held until the job is complete, then released. You can ask for the whole service fee up front with "I need payment now", but only if you owe Ayika nothing, the commitment fee is paid and the market takes card payments. The customer must agree to it first.

If the customer pays you directly, you confirm that you received it. Ayika's charge is then recorded as money you owe.

To withdraw, add your bank account under Earnings in Settings. The smallest withdrawal is ₦5,000. You cannot withdraw while you owe Ayika. Pay-now money is held back from withdrawal for 12 hours.
